Open flames/candels in RH - With new question - see below!!!!!!

I was talking to FMIL about the CP's this weekend and we both agree that we would like an element of light (candels).

Has anyone heard of the RH saying no to real candels on the table?

I figured I would ask you ladies first before calling the RH for such a small questions.

We are doing candelabras.. Our RH has no problem with open flame

our RH will allow candles that are properly enclosed (like candles in a hurricane glass) but will not allow tapers and such that will drip or have the flame open.

most RHs let you have them on the table but..if you wanted them as place card holders they may say no.

most places give you candles on the table.

I don't think it would be an issue... if it is, you can even just use those LED tealights.

Thanks ladies - I appreciate all the feedback. I called and they said its no problem.

I dunno - FH and I were at a wedding and he lit a napkin on fire by accident sooooooo i just wanted to make sure it was cool

i think some RHs require that the flames are in glass or protected in some way...i would just call to make sure that ur RH allows them

Ok so here is my next question - here is what our CP's are going to kind of look like (different flowers, different colors) but this is the general shape and type of vase (glass pedestal):

FMIL mentioned the idea of having a tall tappered candel coming out from the top, but im not sure how I feel about that. My idea was to have votives going around the base of it since we will have rose pedals on the table too.

Thoughts???

I was even thinking maybe 2 tappered candels instead of 1???

I was going to tell you that they told me it was OK there I think candlelight would look so romantic in our beautiful space!!

LOL aww well thanks anyway - yea, I agree - the candel light will look so pretty in that space. We arent doing uplighting so i would like to add as much light as I can.

me too! Uplighting just isn't in our budget, but I figured candles everywhere would be so pretty. I really wanted to put some in the fireplaces too, I love the look of that, but then they are so near to the dance floor that someone would probably kick them over.
