open houses?

open houses?

If I wanted to go with DH to look at an open house do we need to be qualified for anything ir order to go? We are in the very very early stages of looking and I want to see what is out there but don't want to get involved with a real estate agent since not sure when we will actually buy. TIA

No, you don't need to be qualified or anything to look at a home.

IMO get prequalified for a mortgage first.
When my FH and I first started looking in early spring we saw a house at an open house For Sale By Owner that was the PERFECT house for an awesome price... to make a long story short we couldn't make an offer because we weren't prequalified...they got 7 offers that day and sold it a few days later It only takes a few minutes to get prequalified.
