I'm a press agent for dance events at a theatre complex in London. I have this modern dance show opening tomorrow night, so we had a photo call today.
The show is real experimental dance stuff and it's all in silence. So, the dancers all get up there, photographer's ready and they all face the back and then start looking at one another. At which point I YELL out, 'Okay, just let us know when you're ready' The dancers were all like 'Um, we've already started' I just wanted to crawl in a hole. Meanwhile photographer gives me the dirtiest look ever as if I'm just not cultured enough to know that they were 'dancing'

That is soooo funny. Seriously, what some people consider dance is absolutely ridiculous to me. In college I took a Chi Gong (sp) class and we had a dance recital (along with the Tai Chi class, and some other random assorted hippies interspersed with more traditional dance). Well, some of the dance forms were 'interesting'. Not really sure if I'D call it dance.

I'm so sorry that you were embarrassed, but your story is freaking hysterical!!!!
I had no idea how much time I spend 'dancing' in the average day.
I *love* that what you really gave them is a reality check! They are the ones who should be embarrassed, NOT you!
