Opinion needed

Opinion needed

so my sister is invited with a guest, so are the other 2 singles that are invited to our wedding.

of the 3, she is the only one not dating anyone. do you think it would be ok for me to ask her not to bring just anyone? If she gets a boyfriend between now and then, fine. But I remember her telling me a few months ago that she already asked a guy friend of hers to go with her to my wedding incase she doesn’t have a boyfriend by then and he agreed.

A boyfriend is one thing, a random guy she’s buddies with is another. Am I wrong if I ask her to not bring him? We REALLY need the 'room' on the guest list.

If you really need the room Id ask her.

I think at first she might feel awkward without a date if everyone else has one, but... if she does bring someone and HE doesnt know anyone shes going to have to stick with him the whole time instead of mingling with her family freely. If it were me and I knew others at the wedding I would not want to bring a date.

Since she is your sister and you already told her that she could bring someone I think it would cause problems if you told her that she couldn't bring anyone. It's just one person and she will probably feel more comfortable having someone there with her even though she probably knows almost everyone who is going to be there. I know that if my sister asked to not bring someone to her wedding I would be pretty upset with her... JMO

I completely agree!

If it were my sister, I really couldn't tell her not to bring someone, especially if I had already suggested she could (and particularly if you knew my sister). Sorry!

I agree. If she decided to go on her own, it is one thing. But if she was invited with a guest, and she has in her mind that she would like to bring one, then I think you should leave well enough alone.

How about inviting one of the other guests without a guest? like a cousin who is not seeign anyone, or even if they are seeing someone, then only if they are engaged or something.

IMO - I think you should leave it as is. If she has a boyfriend great...if not...at least she can bring someone to have a good time with.

Don't say anything. She is entitled to have the guest of her choosing. The guest is for her, not for you. Sorry. I feel strongly about the guest issue.

Re: Opinion needed

Is she good friends with the guy? Personally, I would want her to bring him if she enjoys his company, and it would make her more relaxed at the wedding.

That said, I didn't feel comfortable stating who could be a guest and who could not. If you already gave her the option of a guest, I feel you have to honor that option and let her choose.
