I just saw a cute Kate Spade makeup case....it within my budget...would you like that? if so, red? or black? I though red would be different, but I'm not sure...
very cute, the red might be nice, something different than ordinary black.

Its very cute - I like the red.
If you bridesmaids would recognize and really appreciate the Kate Spade brand - then its a nice gift. If they wouldn't even realize then they may not see the value in it and may be looking inside for something else.

Sonicstef- I appreciate the comment. I have 7 altogether. There are 2 that I am not sure would necessarily know, but when they do I hope would appreciate it. Its hard b/c 5 of them would really like something nice, one is young and still lives with her parents and really never has the opportunity to have something nice...so maybe some day she will appreciate it, and the last one has been driving me crazy..she is a very old friend and I love her to death, but sh ehasn't been happy with the dress, the fact that i don't wnat alll 10 earrings in, and that I asked that her hair be all one color...oh and she hates that I want her to do her nails neutral instead of vamp, so basically I will never win with her....
still think its ok?
oh and I was thinking of throwing a few little things in it like a brush or something....

Mickeya1a- I was going to do the same thing! I saw a really great bag at Coach and was going to throw in some fun makeup and a $20 gift certificate to Sephora! So needless to say-I love the idea too! That bag is perfect!
Sounds like it will work for your girls. Why don't you get them each the color that you think they would like best. That way they all get the same thing but it is a bit personalized to them. Maybe your old friend would like the black one better since you have asked her not to do her nails black...LOL

i think it was called the 'Girly Nappa Bag' actually! It's black and is about $48.00? I'm hoping I could score them for cheaper at the outlets!

I think the bag with a gift certificate is a great idea!! I love the signature Coach bag. Kate Spade is a bit trendier where Coach will stand the test of time!

Where are you getting the bags? Outlet store? I love the idea. Most of my friends would never spend a lot on a nice makeup bag so it would be a great gift.

Michele31, you like the kate spade? or coach. they are in nordstroms...not the outlet but i think i can swing it...they are $65. the coach range from $48-78 depending on all the different ones.

If you have 7 girls - you are never going to please everyone. If you cant find something you prefer for the 2 that wont appreciate it - don't worry about it and get what works best for the group.
I like the coach bag better...just think it will last longer.
Personally - I don't find Kate Spade stuff to be all that grand. The materials she uses doesn't warrant the cost and since there are lots of knockoffs all over NY, it loses some of its appeal. But their design is very modern while the coach stuff is a little more stuffy.

i like that idea. actually, i did something similar... i bought my bm's those harve chapelier mini tote bags, and i am going to stuff them with things they might need the day of, ie mints, advil, etc.
