Thanks everyone!! The name is pronounced L-eye-la and DH likes both names too!! We'll keep thinking about it for the next 5 months!! But, I really love both names and the meaning.

I love the name. I am going to a first birthday party in a few weeks for a baby named Lila. I think she spells it Lyla. It definitely is not common, but not so unusual that it will be mispronounced.

I think it lovely! My advice to you is go with what you want!!! This will be YOUR child nobody elses!! I wouldn't care if EVERYONE hated the name I picked for my child it's what the parents want!!

My GF's name is Lila but pronounces it Leela (she is greek) and everyone wants to pronouce it Lyla...so it may be a hard name for everyone to get and pronounce correctly.
