So FH and I go to Hawaii every summer (his parents live there). We are getting married there as well. We planned on going to August to plan the entire wedding, when I off from school but his sister is graduating from HS the first week of June. Since I am a teacher I do not get 'vacation day'. FH and I are trying to figure out what to do. FLights are about $550 at the least. FH has to go in June for the graduation. Should I take a week with out pay (its ok with the principal) or should we go again in August?

I guess it depends on how bad you need the pay. If you're not behind in bills and collections agencies aren't towing your car then I think it's ok to go a week without pay.

well it comes to be almost the same. An additional plane flight for FH or four days unpaid for me. I just can't decide

it also depends on how much planning you think you will be able to get done the week of his sisters graduation. do you think his sister has other things planned for that week that she wants you two involved in? just a thought. it really depends on how much time you will need to plan and book everything.
