I appreciate the honesty - I'm on the fence about it myself.

Re: Opinions
I am not into the whole postcard thing. I like the suspense of ripping open an envelope and seeing someone's answer. and it better be YES they are attending

Re: Opinions
I do think its slightly more casual...but certainly fine for 99% of weddings - provided you are not hosting a black tie gala event.
My concern with the postcards would be that they get lost more easily.

Re: Opinions
i was unsure of the whole thing myself...but i like the idea of opening the envelope to see the respose. also the whole world is not reading the cards. IMO

I would be concerned that a postcard might get lost easier. Other than that I see nothing wrong with it.

Re: Opinions
I don't think they are less classy, but I'd feel safer using response cards and envelopes. I'd be nervous the postcards would get lost in the mail.

I don't think there is anything wrong with that, I never even knew they had them.

Re: Opinions
I was about to get one of those, but then I didn't find a model I liked ... I supported the idea for ecological reasons ... less paper.

Re: Opinions
I think either would be fine, but I found that a lot of people wrote little messages with their response and I wonder if people would be less likely to do this with a post card type of response card? (just something to think about)

Re: Opinions
I was recently looking at those in an invitation magazine & there not bad, I saw some that were very pretty. But honestly I just don't think their very elegant. It probably would depend on how formal looking your invitation is.

Re: Opinions
If you can find ones that look nice I think it's fine. I don't see how postcards are more easily lost in mail than envelopes. However, privacy is an issue you may want to consider.

Re: Opinions
I used the response postcard. I found that even with the heavy weight of the paper, some of the edges were slightly chewed. We had hand written responses from many (the back was blank, with plenty of room to write!). Not only did they save on paper, they also saved on the total cost and postage.

Re: Opinions
Guess i am just not used to it but it doesnt seem fancy enough for a wedding imho but it also depends on the type of affair I guess and the fact that if you think it is ok and it costs less etc. people probably wont notice such a small detail so it would be fine us liwedding girls are a little anal though haha

Re: Opinions
I ended up going with the envelopes- thanks for the feedback. I like the idea of the suspense of ripping it open, I think!and it does seem a bit more formal.
