I am so fed up of every1 telling me what I should and should not do on my wedding day. I almost feel like doing the opposite of what every1 wants jus to piss them off. I have no intentions of having a traditional wedding and love to be eccentric and wild. Why is it so hard for people to just understand that that's the way I am. The way I see it, If I change the things about me that are different for that day then I'm not really being true to myself. I dont want to look back at my photos and video and hate the fact that I didn't do what makes me happy.

Re: Opinions
I'm the same way - very eccentric and FH and I want to gear the wedding towards what WE like, not what is necessarily considered 'right' by the wedding industry standards, because we're not cookie-cutter at all. Mind you, we're not doing things differently just to do it differently. There are reasons behind our walk off the beaten path of things. Go with what you love! And be vague when people ask about your plans. If you know that the people that are asking are apt to offer their criticism, then don't even bother giving them info. Or tell them that you'll do things their way if they want to foot the bill!

Re: Opinions
with all the wedding planning i have learned that no matter how many fights take place & no matter how many opinion i have to deal with, in the end its still mine & FHs day. the day of the wedding everyone will be so overjoyed that all the little arguments will no longer mean anything.
do things that will make you & FH happiest.

You should definitely do what you want on your day. The only opinion that matters is yours and your FH. Enjoy your day, it belongs to you!

i agree!!...i think we all get caught up with the drama from time to time...its really hard to please other people...especially if they're family or close friends...but at the end its you and FH that has to look back on that day and be completely happy with the way it turned out!

I agree. Just do what you and FH want. I know it's hard sometimes because you keep hearing feedback from others, but at the end of the day, it's for you and FH. Don't have regrets.

Re: Opinions
You have to do what you want and what you are going to be happy with. FH and I are getting abused because we are throwing a big wedding and not saving our money. In-laws think its a waste of money and we should just go to the justice of the peace (my parents are deceased). We aren't even telling people what we are doing anymore because everyone feels the need to give their opinions.

Re: Opinions
it's a once in a lifetime event and you should have the wedding of your dreams, not other people. Just yes everyone to death and then do what makes you and your FH happy! People always feel the need to give their opinions, you just have be strong and assertive and do your own thing! Hang in there
