Opinions about adding a BM

Opinions about adding a BM

I'm down to 3 BM's. FH has 4 GM's. I really wanted FH and I to have even numbers. The wedding is 8 months away...if I asked a friend to be a BM now, does it look like I'm only asking her because I've had 2 BM's drop out? Is it a bad idea to add a BM or just deal with being uneven?

TIA for any opinions ladies!

i have 3 bridesmaid & FH has 4 groomsmen. i did not want to be uneven but FH did not want to not include someone & i did not want to just add someone. after all the stress the 3 bridesmaids put me threw i am happy we are uneven.

Hmmmm...well I think if you have someone that you really want, then you should ask her. However, I wouldn't ask just for the sake of having even numbers. Because you're going to wind up with a BM who maybe isn't all that close to you and possibly won't be into it.

We aren't having even numbers (I have 6 and he has 7) and I preferred this to asking someone that I didn't want in my BP.

I don't think I would be happy if someone asked me to be in the BP late in the game...

hmmm - it depends how important the evenness of the bp looks to you. You can be extremely honest and ask like someone now. Like, if something like that happened to me, I would ask my readers and I would tell them the truth 'two people dropped out bc of blah blah blah - and I clearly wanted you to be part of the wedding by making you a reader, so now that there is the availablilty, would you like to be a bridesmaid?'

If the unnevenness doesnt matter to you then, just let it be.

I think that if you haven't yet done your BM dress shopping, then you might be okay with it.

But keep in mind that if this potential BM is friends with your other girls, she's bound to find out that she was an afterthought.

I personally would just leave things as they are.

I would personally leave it the way it is. I have been to many weddings with uneven BP. The only time they really have to walk together is into/out of the church and the reception.....besides, all eyes will be on you and FH anyway!! One guy can have one girl on each arm

I don't think it's a problem. We're 4 1/2 months out and FH has decided to ask one more GM. He's going to be asking him in a week or two.

I think it is totally up to you. FH and I had even numbers 10 each... now I have 9 and he has 10. I didn't want to ask someone else just for the sake of even numbers so I am leaving it as is.

Plus I thought.... someone else could still drop out and I would only be uneven again. OR a guy drop out and we'll be even.

Personally, I would leave it as is... JMHO

we had even numbers, but might not now cause FH bro is an huge a$$hole and is prob no longer invited at all. might be down a RB too. we talked about adding someone, but since we asked everyone so long ago, i feel uncomfortable doing that.

Plenty of people have uneven bridal parties. If you feel like it though, add her. I asked one of my BM's 9 months before my wedding date. FH got asked 2 months before to be in a BP...
