Just talked to my Mom and found out my grandparents (who I am not at all close with) want to have a 60th aniversary party/brunch for themselves the day after my wedding at the fox hollow (where I am getting married). I think this is waaaay inappropriate. Am I wrong?
During our recption I had planned on having a special spotlight dance for them to their wedding song and giving her a big bouquet of flowers. Not so much anymore.

That would probably bother me as well. Makes sense from their perspective if you have a lot of family coming in from out of town, and if that's the case then it could save you some $$ if you were going to do a brunch for your OOT'ers. But even with all that, it seems a bit spotlight stealing. Can you talk to your grandparents, even though you're not close with them?

I don't think it's inappropriate for them to have such a huge anniversary the day after your wedding as all the family will be there to celebrate and that's a huge great anniversay. I actually think it's quite nice to have 2 parties in one weekend.
I do however think it is very inappropriate to have it at the same location you're having your wedding! There are TONS of other venues to throw a party at, even if they do have it in another room at Fox Hollow, one where your wedding wasn't held, it is still a bit weird.
They could have picked another location. I think your mom should tell them to reconsider locations. Tell them to go to the Metropolitan or some other location where they can have their unique event too.

Yea, I have no problem with the party the next day. It's the location they are considering that bothers me. We are doing a breakfast the next day at the fox hollow for whoever stays and the hotel and close for family (parents/siblings). Problem with them having it at Fox Hollow, my fh's side of the family would not be invited and I wouldn't feel right asking my grandparents to invite FH's close family. I have asked my Mom to tell my Grandma to please not have it there. I plan on looking into other options for her. Originally they were thinking about other places/catering halls, then 'they heard Fox Hollow was nice' so they are thinking maybe there. I was just shocked and need a Bridezilla check lol.

I think having the party at the SAME location is what would bother me. They could easily pick a different place - there are so many to pick from!!

I would talk with them about how much it bothers you that they want to pick the same location. I think this is a bit rude
