Anybody have opinions on which they preferred: Land's End or Crescent Beach Club?

Re: Opinions on Land's End vs CBC
I don't think there's any comparison.
Land's end is the #2 place to get married on LI behind Oheka.
Its in a mansion that's historic to LI, being formerly owned by the people who owned Cutex.
They're not pushy and the food at land's End is by Lovin Oven caterers, which also owns Flowerfield. CBC bashed Land's End when we went. That is a big no no to me.
Also that dance floor in CBC is annoying. Its parquet and buckles and moves.
The restaurant is open at the same time so its not really just your wedding.
If it rains, you get married in a hallway at CBC.
And Land's End isnt next to someones house
Land's End hands down.

I looked at Lands End!! I loved it but we kept looking bc it was a little pricey for us. We were going to look at Crescent Beach Club but decided it was to far.

I've never been to Land's End, but I could not have been more happy with CBC. I found everybody very easy to deal with leading up to the wedding. They accommodated all of our special requests. For example, i wanted chilled strawberry soup as the appetizer course and the chef came up with a great recipe for it.
FM me if you have any specific questions.

While the restaurant is open, you do not share restrooms or any other space with the restaurant patrons. They also stop the food service to the restaurant while the wedding guests are being served. The restaurant being open did not impact upon our wedding in any way.
I was on the dance floor for quite a while on my wedding, and did not experience it buckling or moving.
While the PP was apparently rubbed the wrong way by CBC, it really is a wonderful venue. Our guests had a great time there and enjoyed the food and service immensely. One of our guests even sent us a thank you!

I'm glad you had a wonderful wedding. I didn't mean to offend you. They were just god awful to us. Nothing about our experience there was good.

No worries. I'm not offended, at all. It's not like I own the place ( I wish!!!). There are definitely pros and cons to each venue.

Re: Opinions on Land's End vs CBC
Thank you girls! We have been to Land's End already and did love it, just a little pricey since we want a June Saturday evening wedding. Have not been to CBC, but I loved the pictures on the website so I was just curious to hear some feedback.

Re: Opinions on Land's End vs CBC
I just looked at both places this past weekend. I liked both but that have a very different feel. They were the exact same price for fri and sat nights in the summer. My fiance preferred Land's End and feels it is a classier look and feels better about it if the weather is not good. CBC mentioned that there was little to no room for negotiation on price, where as Land's End said we could discuss it. We still have not made a final decision but I think we are leaning towards Land's End.

Re: Opinions on Land's End vs CBC
We have the same wedding date! And if you book Lands End, we will share the same venue! We also wanted the eve wedding there, but couldn't afford it, plus we couldn't make the min. So we chose afternoon.
Why we did choose LE, is mostly because Lovin Oven is the caterer. Their menu is unique and everything we want to offer our guests. The hall is amazing looking.
Couldn't tell ya about CBC tho.

Re: Opinions on Land's End vs CBC
I booked Lands End so I am obviously partial to it. Plus I worked as a bridal attendant in Sand Castle for 3 years and I knew what I wanted and what I didn't want. I went to CBC for a company staff party last year. All 150 or so of us had a blast. The place and scenary is so beautiful. But I definitely had my dislikes of it there and I didn't have any for Lands End (except the $$).

Re: Opinions on Land's End vs CBC
My wedding at Lands End was amazing. I can't really compare it to CBC because it was to far from me and I never even considered it. But I have to tell you Lands End was truly incredible. The food was delicious... my guests still comment how good it was, and two of DH's cousins are big food salesmen that sell to restaurants all over for major companies, so they are pretty picky about food. The layout is great, the service is amazing... everyone commented on how attentive the wait staff was and they were so helpful leading up to the wedding. When we found out Sayville had a parade on the day of my wedding they personally sent out alternate directions to all my guests. The BM asked me my favorite drink during pics, and when I got back off the boat it was there waiting for me. Just incredible service and attention to detail. And the place is GORGEOUS!!! I do not think you can go wrong with Lands End. The only thing about CBC that Lands End doesn't have is ceremonies on the beach, but the gazebo is beautiful with the water behind it. But Lands End has the cocktail hour on the deck along the canal with the ferries coming in and out, thats pretty amazing.
Tons of pics in my album and more details in my review.
