I had a full day. It was so nice having her there the whole time- packing stuff up to send home with mom and dad (table numbers, guest book, etc), making sure everything was out of the bridal suite, etc.

There is a bunch of stuff that happens at the end of the reception....I was happy that our DOC was there

depending on your venue, i would think you are ok with the 5 hour package
We did not have a coordinator at all and my venue was amazing! they did everything needed...coordinated bridal party entrance, set everything up. when the night was over they had a card waiting with everything packed up and ready to go home with us...from cake servers, toasting flutes, cake topper, extra food, program baskets etc.

Right now I have a partial DOC- mostly for the morning and making sure everyone is where they need to be, RH set up correctly etc. (but mine is 2 DOCs for the partial day). I can extend it to the full day if I want, (its an extra $200) but I'm not sure yet if I will.

Having a full DOC would obviously be ideal, but it comes down to your budget. For me, I won't be having one at all unless we are severely under budget on everything else. But if you can swing it, the peace of mind you'll have on your wedding day is priceless.

We actually booked ours for 10, but she pro rated it since we only used her for 8.....

Thanks everyone. I'll have to think this one over. I wasn't even considering one until now!

Are you thinking of using A Modern Day Affair? I think I recognize this as they packages they offer. :)

I'm using them and I went with the full day of coordinator. Our ceremony is at church at 2:30 and our reception starts at 5:30, so the 5 hours just wouldn't have cut it for me. Plus if you want them to stay extra time their overtime fees I believe are $100.00 per hour, per girl, or something crazy like that. I just felt it was worth it to pay the little bit extra and know I would have them there for everything from beginning to very end.

I went with full DOC because I want them to help at the end of the day. To me its just more comforting to know they are there to help.
