My fiance and I are having a little disagreement on photographer/videographer prices. The place I like is $6200 for 2 photographers, bridal album, 2 parent albums, digital files, printed proofs and 3 enlargements, website with photos, engagement shoot, thank you cards, 1 videographer, edited/chapters/special effects and 3 DVDs. I think that price is worth it, he doesn't. He wants to see if we can cut things out of the package to make the price lower, but I feel like we'll end up getting them anyway at a higher price (ie: Thank You cards) Is this price high? Anybody with similar packages, is that around what you paid?
I asked the photographer if we paid in cash, can we avoid tax and the photographer said yes. I think his issue is not wanting to tie up all that cash. But my feeling is we're going to need to pay it anyway, regardless if we pay it before the wedding or after.

I think that's pretty decent for photo and video. Mine was a little over $5K, but I know the owner of the company so he gave me a break. We also paid in cash to avoid paying tax. Either way you look at it, you have to pay it, so you might as well save a few hundred dollars on tax. You'll probably still have the same payment plan, whether it's cash or not, I doubt he'd make you pay it all up front.

Prior to making a final decision find out this information: How many pictures do they usually guarantee?? How are the payments broken down?? (usually u hear, half is deposit when booking, 1/4 day of & 1/4 when you pick up the last item)

Sounds about right...maybe a tiny bit on the pricey side. I paid a little less for pretty much the same package, but I only had 1 photographer.

Depending on WHO it is, it could be an INCREDIBLE price considering there is videography, 3 albums and the other extras. Do you mind sharing who the photographer is?

That's about on par for what I paid. I mean my package was half the price, but I also got about half of what you got- no video, no TY cards, no e-pics, etc.

Thanks all! Makes me feel a lot better. I think I'm afraid I'll end up having Buyer's Remorse and find a cheaper photographer right after I sign the contract.
You get about 6-800 printed proofs and the payment plan is deposit, 75% due at wedding and the remaining when you do your albums.

That is a great price. It sounds very similar to the package we are getting minus the second photographer.... but if we did add the second one wed be paying about the same amount....

Sounds a little high to me. I'm paying a lot less for two photographers, a videographer, assistant, 3 edited dvds and raw coverage, hard proofs and dvd with prints, 1 11x14, 3 8x10's and a few 5x7. Also getting an engagement shoot with a album and dvd. An album for us and two parent albums. Also as many thank yous as I need

all the photogs i visited were about $5500-6000 except for duet which was a little cheaper so we went with them. $5300 for what you listed and a little more.

Thats about what I got price and whats included. I got slightly under that though - talk down the price- thats what I did :)
