Opinions on the Commack Wedding Center

I got them to agree to a good price on my chosen gown today, but I'm a bit worried about all the bad reviews I've read on here. I was thinking of ordering my dress there tomorrow or Saturday. Has anyone had a good experience there? Maybe it's worth a little more money to shlep into RK Bridal, or call around a bit more. I can't spend much more time shopping around, I'm out fo time, the dress has to be ordered. My wedding is in twenty weeks!

Re: Opinions on the Commack Wedding Center

I haven't gone to commack wedding center, but my mom lives only 5 min away, so I've been keeping tabs on it since it would have been REALLY convenient....

I sort of recall them being rude being the primary complaint... but I don't remember stories of people ordering dresses...

I got my gown from RK bridals no frills service. You buy it over the phone, and it can even be mailed to your home for an extra $50 or so.... I avoided calling them on a busy weekend days.... everything was REALLY efficient, really cheap, and my dress even came in a month early

Then you find a place on LI to alter it.... just make sure you know exactly what manufacturer, and what size you need. Don't guess, since there's no returns/exchanges as long as the dress arrived w/o damages.....

hope this helps......

I love this topic. I had a great experience. I bought my bm dresses, wedding dress, alterations and invites there and totally raved about it UNTIL I got my proofs back and saw that my dress wasn't altered properly. And, I spent $360 for a bustle, small hem and waist clipping!!!!!! $360 is A LOT and I get my proofs back and wham. I've been so pissed, but I have to let it go. Breathe

I tried on my gown at RK Bridal--but the no frills is only $30 less than Commack just agreed to. And I can pick up my dress at Commack, and have it altered there. Not worth the $30, IMHO.

I wanted to try PR Cilla, as I've heard good things about them, but I tried repeatedly to call them but they never answered the phone. Now, they did call me back a day after I left a message, but what if I have a problem with my gown? I want to be able to get someone on the phone ASAP.

So you didn't like them?

What's waist clipping? Hopefully I won't have a hem, they said we'd order it with the hollow to hem already done, especially since my dress has an ornameted hem. And what wasn't done properly? What 'proofs?' Was that the invites? I'm not understanding...

I went to a wedding place in Commack, but I know there are 2, so I'm not sure if I went to the one everyone complains about. But, I worked with Liz and she was great! I didn't end up ordering a gown I liked there, because I liked a better one

Ok, sorry I'm talking the wedding lingo . I loved the place, just don't do alterations there. I found the service great at the commack location and the dresses come in FAST (3 - 4 months). The invites came in 2 weeks. So, if you are getting married in 20 weeks, I say order from them. Proofs are the pictures I got from my photographer.

I got my dress, BM dresses and quite a few other things from there...... They treat me like a princess everytime that I go in there. Sometimes they have given me so much attention that I felt a lil funny(I'm shy) but I have no complaints

I have not had the same experience as others. I HATED my experience there for my brothers wedding. They almost didn't have our dresses in time b/c of a mix up and we had to go back for a few fittings and it still wasn't right. The service there *****!!!! The owner Bob was very Rude to my mom when she complained!!!!!!

I went there to look at dresses and they seemed ok. However, I didn't order my dress from them because I got a much better price from Burton's. Maybe you should give them a call and see how much they have your gown for there. FM if you need the contact info.

All of our dresses came in on time as promised...but I think I might have my dress altered elsewhere..>I haven't thought about that yet...my sister used them four years ago and it was fine...but we only did the dresses, nothing else! It's kind of a trek from where we live..

Re: Opinions on the Commack Wedding Center

I went there several times after I booked all my vendors. I never would book with them because I heard not so great things about them, but I just mainly looked cause me and my mom were bored one day. . .
I'm not so crazy about havng them take care of all 'MY' wedding details, ect.
And any bride knows, you have to be careful with the food [rh], THE DJ [the entertaiment is very important] and the PHOTOGRAPHY! additionally, i believe the Wedding Center only does silk flowers and not real, but I could be wrong.
Over all, my mom would have rather scrimp up all the extra money and pay for vendors, rather then deal with them and a bad mistake that could happen. I also think that its the BRIDE'S wedding, and she should chose & and plan her own wedding.

Personally I think they Su&%!!!! I got dresses there but they are VERY rude at times and lazy!
Theonly problem is that they havethe best prices most of the time. I ordered my dress and BM dresses from Fantasia Bridal in Rocky Point and they matched the BM dress price that I got from TWC.

I bought my wedding dress, MOB and bridesmaid dresses there and had a great experience. Alterations were expensive so we all had them done elsewhere

Re: Opinions on the Commack Wedding Center

wedding centers always worry me cause you never know when they are gonna fold and pick up and leave then you lose everything. let me make a long story short here my sister went to a wedding center and made all plans then she didnt feel good about it so somethin told here to just go out on her own and get her money back. so my moms friends daughter decided to use them my mom told her not to. so she was stubborn and used them anyway. so they picked up and left so my moms friends daughter lost everything pics and all the only pics she had was what someone took on their regular camera. thank god my sister made the right choice

Re: Opinions on the Commack Wedding Center

I went there to try on wedding dresses and my BM tried on BM's dresses. They are pretty rude. They weren't rude to me directly, but my attendant kept making rude comments about the other girls trying on dresses.

Then when I went out to the main area and they were looking for a style number for me, there was another bride there who purchased her bridal gown, BM's gown, MOB gown, etc. etc who was being yelled at by her attendant. The bride kept saying that there was no need for her to be rude and the attendant was like 'I'm the NICEST one here, just ask ANYONE!!!' The manager came over and was like 'Oh well, she's not rude, she's very nice' but the lady had been a b*tch to the bride! She was YELLING at her and really embarrassing her in front of all the customers in the store.

The lady even said 'Well what you can do is cancel your entire order but if you do you might as well cancel your whole wedding because NO other place will get these dresses in for you on time. GOOD LUCK' and the bride told her she didn't want to cancel the order at all.

Anyway, I could tell you more, but I'd only recommend this place to LOOK, not to purchase.

By the way, RK bridal will price match 5% lower than the lowest price you're quoted. Try that.
Good luck!
