Re: opinions please
I completely agree with you. It would be much more special and significant - for you and for your children - if they are the only ones in the wedding party.
But maybe it depends on how close you are to FH's niece and nephew.

Re: opinions please
That is a tough one. I understand your point of view however i love little kids that are in a wedding. How old are you kids and how old are the niece and nephew. Would the nephew be the ring bearer. I had my 2 little sisters and both my nieces.
How do both your kids feel about it - maybe you could ask them. Sometimes they might think it is fun to have all of them. I don't think it would take away from your daughters however i can see how you might feel.
Sorry if i was no help. What does your FH think?

If it were me, I would have just my daughters. It means so much more to you and them. It's not like you are taking away from your neice and nephew, it's just more special if it was just your girls. What does your FH think?

Re: opinions please
4 and 18 months are a little to young to walk down the aisle anyway, but if you do decide to have them maybe you could have your daughters as Maids of Honor along with your adult maid of honor. My cousin did this and everyone thought it was great and the kids loved it, they even gave speeches.

I agree with you - much more meaningful -- just have your two daughters.

Re: opinions please
your niece and nephew are young- at that age, having them in the wedding is more of an honor for their parents than for the kids- right? How do their parents feel about it? Maybe you could give them other jobs to do like blow bubbles or throw rose petals.

Re: opinions please
I never thought to have them as maid of honors along with my sister(who is the adult MOH) The church allows this? I already had to change my churches bc my church looked down on the fact that we had children before we got married.

Re: opinions please
I would tell her NO.
We didn't want any children in the bridal party. One day MIL declared that her three grand daughters would be flower girls and her grandson would be the ring bearer. Thankfully none of the kids heard her, because I would have felt bad letting them down like that.
DH just told her we are not having kids in the BP and do not get the kids excited over something that is not going to happen.

I think it's very understandable that you want to have just your daughters. If you wind up having your niece and nephew than maybe you can have your daughters play more of an active role in the ceremony, do some sort of reading, or even exchange rings/lockets with them as part of the ceremony. I think that would be a nice way to involve them regardless of whether the niece/nephew are in the wedding party.

Re: opinions please
I would just have your daughters, and give the other kids a special job that day. They can hand out bubbles/rice, hand out programs, bell ringers, etc.

I am sure they would allow it, It is just a title because they are under age, you sister would have to sign all the documents.

Re: opinions please
Your wedding party has to be the way you want it, not anybody else. I hate when people feel they have the right to tell you what to do with your wedding. I agree with the post that said that you should give FH's niece and nephew other honors during the wedding. Make them feel special, but they don't have to be a RB and FG.

How does your FI feel about it? If he wants them in - I would probably agree to it since it's his niece and nephew. If he doesn't care either way - I agree with you - I think it would be very special to the two of you and your daughters to be in your wedding party and be the ONLY children in there - after all - they're the bride and groom's kids!

Re: opinions please
My Fiance has been unusually quiet about it, even though it's his mom who is pushing the issue. I want it to be just our daughters bc we were so young when we had them...AND we made it as single parents, but she doesnt agree...she wants her 2 other grandkids in the wedding as well..
