Soo... what is the deal with dads and tuxes? My dad picked out a tux yesterday. FH's dad lives OOT, so basically we have to pick one out for him. We are going to get him a different style tux as my dad, but I am wondering about the vest and tie. Should we get the same one as my dad, or something different? What is usually done? Do the dads usually match or wear something different? My dad got a vest with a pattern in a charcoal color with a charcoal tie. Should we put FHs dad in soild charcoal vest tie, or black vest and tie? The GM are wearing a black vest with a celedaon tie. FH is wearing a white vest and white tie. I need your expert opinion on this, ladies!! TIA

both dads at our wedding willl have the same tux... but honestly, i don't think it matters either way whether or not the dads match or have different tuxes

I'd say just put them in the same color vest & tie.

IMO they do not need to match. They are not in the BP...they are the 'dads' and should wear whatever makes them comnfortable. There are pictures in my review of my dad and DH's dad...both wore different tuxes and looked great in pictures.

I agree about them wearing what they are comfortable in, but FH's dad is OOT and we have to pick it out for him. When we asked him what he wanted, he said he didn't care, a tux is a tux. So I am confused.

My dad was also OOT. He rented a 'regular' tux...black with a white shirt and black bowtie. I loved how he looked. I think if anything he should match his wife, not the GM.
