So we are actually meeting with a hall this weekend! I know that I am going to love it but here is the tiny dilema. The church is about 40-50 minutes away from the hall. Is this ok? I know most people don't normally go to the church anyway but is it ok to ask guest to drive 45 minutes for out wedding?
I know whenever fh and I go to a wedding, even if its close, we stay at the hotel because of the after party and we don't have to worry about driving.

I don't think its a problem. The guests who care enough about being there to see you guys get married won't care about the drive (or at least deal with it lolz)..
You can't just pick a hall because it close to your Church you know what I mean? So I'm pretty sure most guests will understand.
What hall are you going to see?

I don't think it's a problem. Maybe you can get the OOT guests rooms that are closer to the RH. If you want to spend a lil more you can do a shuttle bus for your guests that don't want to drive all the way there.

Re: Opinions please
i went to a wedding like that once... the really annoying thing was that we didn't know that was the situation until we were driving FOREVER! i don't know if it would be appropriate to write it on the invitation, but i would def try to get the word out!

Re: Opinions please
Well no matter where we have the wedding I am def getting a hotel and having a shuttle take the guests back and forth since we will have some OOT guests. Thanks for your opinions!

Wow that stair case is GORGEOUS!!!
How many people do you think are going to come to the church?? And is the church in route to your RH for people who are already traveling because maybe it won't be such a big deal if its kind of like a pit-stop along the way, you know?
If the majority of the people who are coming to the church are close family ask yours and FHs parents if they think it'll be a prob with a lot of guests...they probably know which relatives hate traveling from past events and which ones don't mind..

Re: Opinions please
I think it would be as if our church was in howard beach but the reception was off the LIE like near westbury.
Most of our guests would have to drive past the town our church is to get to the hall.
Thank you I just love it! I hope it goes well :) I love the outside patio for cocktail hour

Re: Opinions please
Our church is in Babylon and the reception is in Mt. Sinai. That's about a 45 minute drive. Like one of the other girls said, those who really want to see you will go to both and not care. I fell in love with our RH so if 45 minutes is too much for some people they can stay home!

Re: Opinions please
Mine is 45 minutes. I agree its not ideal but I have a pretty large gap between the church and the reception so it will help narrow that time!
By the time they get there they'll be so happy and ready for a cocktail and some fun!
