My mom finally found a dress, and we both love it,...only thing is, it's the same exact color of my bridesmaid dresses...does that matter? she can order it in a different color, but we just loved it in the burgundy...is there any thing wrong with the mother of the bride wearing the same color as the bridesmaids? we don't know!!

I think depending on how traditional you want to be about it, it may matter. I can almost predict someone will think its a little silly of her.
But I think its super cute to make your mom blend in with the bridesmaids. Like she's just one of the girls..

Personally i wouldn't care. If my mom found a dress she loved then i would want her to wear what she loved most, even if it was the same color as the bm dresses. Honestly, when i go to weddings i dont sit there and pay attention to that stuff, if i see one of the moms wearing the same color as bm's i wouldnt even say anything about it.
Some etiquette is good when it applies to being respectful to everyone, but some things i think are so silly and really dont even matter. If a guest is sitting there and really gonna criticize the color being similar to bm dresses then thats ridiculous, most pay attention to other things anyways. I'd rather have my family and close friends happy and comfortable than caring than caring about what someone who is obviously critical thinks about it, if they dont like it oh well, i'd rather have my mom comfortable than giving a sh*t about what others think, those who truly care about you and there for you wont sit there and talk sh*t. If i go to a wedding of someone im close to then guess what, i never sit there and say bad things, im so happy for them and paying attention to the good. If its someone i dont know well then maybe id look at things like that so keep in mind. Are these people opinion more important than what your mom wants to wear, i say screw them lol

If your mom loves the dress and loves the color than order it in Burgundy. Truth is she needs to be comfortable and feel beautiful that day as well. There really aren't that many photos that your mom will be in with your bridesmaids. Do what makes both of you happy!

my girls are in champagne and my mom is wearing a pale gold...very very simliar and we thought the same thing btu went for it..she loved it so we are just doing it!

I would be fine if my mother had chosen to wear the same color as the bridesmaids, however if it was my FMIL I would probably react differently.

my mom fell in love with a chocolate brown dress which is what my girls are wearing and i didn't even think to care about it matching....it will look nice in pictures

DH's step mother wore the same color as the BM's and I actually loved the idea. It really wasnt a problem.
