We're not going to be going far away for our honeymoon. Considering the price, being far away from our 1 year old son & it also going to be hurricane season in the tropics.
We've stayed at both Montauk & A.C. but we are trying to decide which one to do for our honeymoon to stay for a few days. We want to have a beach near by, & nice restaurants/bars. Any & all suggestions please TIA

Montauk is gorgeous and it'll still be hot. Nothing beats the beaches and there are so many outstanding restaurants. You can also go to the hamptons for a little excursion.

Definitely Montauk - it will be much more relaxed and have more of a vacation feel!

Re: Opinions please?!
why not try something a little different - what about the north shore? greenport? wineries? beaches? etc?

You should check out Pocono Palace. I went there last summer with my fiancé and we had such a great time! It's not near a beach, but couples do go for their honeymoon their. Plus it isn't terribly far away its in PA. You should definitely check it out

Cape Cod (which may be too cold) or Ocean City Maryland or Rehoboth/Dewey Beach area in Delaware has some awesome beaches

I say montauk.
My FH and I are gonna go to NYC. Stay at a fancy hotel, see a show. It's an idea if you need one:)

Re: Opinions please?!
out of the two, Id pick Montauk...it is much more quaint! and i think for a HM you need to relax and enjoy each other
i would however, highly suggest Newport Rhode Island
sept is a wonderful time of year to go there
you can to wineries, sunset cruise, tour the mansion, cliff walk(which is a beautiful walk on a cliff, overlooking the water and tons of mansions)
there are a ton of restaurants and shopping
FH & I have gone the past 3 years in a row for our anniversary
I would highly highly rec the Victorian Ladies Inn...it is a bed and breakfast, rated number 1 in newport
orrr if you want to splurge, Castle Hill
Castle Hill is a little far from all the action but you have your own lil bungalow, right on the water and its a short drive like 10 min I believe
fm if you want more info...it is very romantic and a beautiful place for a mini moon!

I suggest this. If you look up Cove Haven Resorts, you will find three all inclusive resorts in PA with one of them being Pocono Palace. They are all inclusive which includes onsite activities, breakfast and dinner. Also, some rooms have their own pool in the room. I have been here a total of three times already and absolutely love going there. This is probably where we will end up for our honeymoon.

voted montauk... the only thing is it can get pretty pricey...
have you considered shelter island? it feels like you're really getting away, because you have to take the ferry there (from i think green port or montauk)
it's very quaint and romantic with bed and breakfasts, bycicles built for twos, shareing an icecream cone on the beach... swoonnnnnn....

I actually got something in the mail the other day for Cove Haven. It's also another option. I like the idea of it being all inclusive!!

I've been to Shelter Island when I was younger & were out in Greenport 1 day & decided to go over to Shelter Island but got bored quickly
