Opinions PLEASE!

Opinions PLEASE!

Hello Ladies!

I'm going out of my mind and was hoping for some input on food quality.

-FH and I visited Fox Hollow and I LOVED the WG room(65$ per/person for a Sunday in March javascript:FEmote(''); ), but also felt it was a bit small. WE have a anticipated list of 180 people! And though I'm willing to cut it down to 160 to fit the room, the room for cocktails was even smaller. I had no clue where all the guests will sit! Even if it was outdoors. Do they allow us to use both outdoor and indoors?

Also we had dinner there and was not as impressed with the food as we thought we would. Are there any Fox Hollow brides old and new that had a tasting experience that left you thinking the food was just a tad bit overcooked? We tried a Seafood risotto dish- which included lobster, scallops, and shrimp- all of which took more effort than necessary to chew. We also tried the duck al' orange which was a little dry as well but the grand mariner based sauce was phenomenal.

I loved the room, I loved Pierre (our waiter), and Ken our BM is beyond accommodating but again I'd love more opinions just so I don't feel like there might be a possibility that we would regret it later.

Also, has anyone had their tasting at Fox Hollow yet? Is everything ridiculously tasty and moist and juicy? There are so many family and friends who are foodies. I don't want to be the bride with not good at all tasting food.

-We also love the Inn at New Hyde Park for that turn of the century architecture. We haven't tried the food yet-hoping to make an appointment for tomorrow night to see the property and taste the food.
Does any one have information on their pricing? I heard their are quite the budget breaker (i.e. 300+$/person)

-We love the food at Russo's but the space is not really our style. Is the Riviera and El Caribe's food comparable? How is the pricing (does anyone have info on that?)

At this point, FH and I are open to Mid-March to the first week of June 2013. We're hoping to secure a Saturday night, but are willing to do a Sunday 'twilight' event (4-9:30pm or 4:30-10pm).

Things seem to be booking up fast and I would love to commit to a place but don't want to commit without more info.

Any info would be lovely.

Thanks so much in advance.

You should post this in BHB, I know a lot of 2012 brides are doing tastings and what not. You usually do them later on... Thats a great price for Fox Hollow. FSIL got married there almost two years ago and the food and service was great. Not one bad thing to say. As far as the guest list, I wouldnt worry... We sent out about 160 and our number is 120.

NHP Inn is exquisite, one event at a time, which I adore, even in hindsight. But, didnt book bc we are having a smaller wedding and the price was high, even if we neg down. Dont remember what exactly but it was a friday in march we were looking for. Although if you can guarantee 175 they may work with you on price.

I heard El Caribe has amazing food but thats also on the pricer side.

Hope this helps!

I don't have a price quote for a Sunday in March, but to give you a little info I looked at the Inn NHP for a Saturday night in September and it was $160pp with a guarantee of 225.

I went for a tasting last month and I thought the food was really good. The duck dish was actually my favorite. I really dont think you have to worry about Fox Hollow's food.

I also had Ken who showed us around. We were looking at a Sunday event too in September. I think I remember him saying that we cant use the outside area if its a day wedding bc the space will be used by another party

I actually went to the inn at new Hyde park and. I believe it wss 150 for a Saturday in March, be aware that even though they advertise one wedding st a time they still have other events so there may be a sweet 16 party going on st the same time . I live in Brooklyn and have been to weddings at the el caribe and Riviera, both are awesome and have great food but i believe both are very expensive. hope this helps
