opinions please - re: inviting people from work

heres the situation.. my dept has 17 people.. my group consists of my boss, me and my 3 staff..
i'm close with one of my staff and my boss.. we all started around the same time and all have only been working here for a little over 2 yrs...

do i invite my whole group or just the two people i'm close with? i dont want to offend anyone but at the same time i dont want them to feel weird about receiving an invite - like why did i get one? kinda thing...

opinions?? who do i invite or not invite? i see these people more than i see anyone!!!

TIA

I would invite your all 3 staff members. I would rather risk them coming then having hard feelings, especially since you have to work with them everyday.

only invite the close ones! That or noone at all.. chances are you'll have a new job in 10 years

I'd only invite the people you're close to..... I invited my whole lab, but I worked with all of them for almost 8 years, and we're all on good terms. FH invited only his boss, becuase we're both close to him, but we aren't with the new people in his lab....

This one is always a tricky one..
I think you should just invite the people you are close with...

I am in the same position. If you can afford to have all 3 co-workers then you should consider inviting them all. But if cost is the issue, you should only invite those who you are closes to. A co-worker of mind told me that, 'People will get over it, well before we will get over it.'

Good luck
