Opinions: Stupid or that is cool (toasting 'flute')

I know they are not toasting flutes but they go with my theme so nah or yea on these glasses?

i say sure! especially if it goes with your theme... but i have not had one thought about flutes so i dont know what to even expect them to be exactly... do we need em?

I say NAY.... kind of tacky in my opinion. (and I had a lot of Irish touches in my wedding, so it's not that...)

I woudl go with some more elegant... like Waterford crystal or something like that....

I think they're pretty, but what really matters is whether you and FH love them.

Jen, I'm sorry, but I have to say nay. I know you're doing a very shamrock/Irish theme, but I think if you perhaps do Waterford instead (which is a trademark Irish crystal, as you know) it would be a subtle and elegant touch, plus can act as an heirloom in years to come.

There is an Irish store in Babylon on Deer Park Ave that sells Waterford... I don't think Quirk sells Waterford, do they?

Thanks girls I went out shopping and have taken everyones opinions to heart.

I admit crystal is amazing but sometimes its not functional. I love more decorative items and colored items that are not going ot break if i tap them the wrong way. So after picking up the warterford and then galway crystal as amazing as they are it didn't feel right to me. Called FH and he didn't want anything with a claddagh (he hates HATES claddaghs) said go with someone we can use more then once so we picked the shamrock wine glasses and I got a matching candy dish. I wish I could of found where Celtic Crystal was sold because when I visited there in Ireland they had colored glass pieces that I loved with a shamrock detail but no one sells it around here.

Yes i admit it can be perceived as a bit tacky to have them but in the end i think we both will be happy and especially if i break one I have three others (they came in a set of four for $40)!
