OPK ?

For those of you using them, or anyone that has looked into them- any feedback?
ClearPlan Easy Fertility Monitor VS. ClearPlan Fertility Monitor Test Sticks
obviously cost difference is huge--any other feedback?

I didn't use any of the store brands, instead I used the dip strips (no plastic, just tiny strips) from testsforless.com. You can also try saveontests.com. The have packages where you can buy OPK and HPT together.

The cost is mainly in the packaging, that's why these tests are cheaper. You just need paper cups to make it easy. I think they test pretty accurately, they worked for me!

Read Taking Charge of Your Fertility (buy.com has it the cheapest with free shipping) before using the tests. The book explains that most women DO NOT ovulate on Day 14, as most doctors will have you believe and the tests will not be very effective unless you know your ovulalution schedule. The book is amazing. I learned a lot from it.
www.babyhopes.com also has the OPK test cheaper.

Re: OPK ?

My RE and my ob/gyn both recommended using the ClearPlan test sticks, starting 10 days after AF, and continuing every day until you surge. After 2 or 3 cycles, you should see a pattern, and will be able to estimate when to start testing rather than doing it every day for so long. Contrary to belief you will ov. 14 days before you get AF, not 14 days after you start.
Doing this while charting BBT is even better.

GOOD LUCK!!

Re: OPK ?

I used both. After using the sticks for a few months, on the advice of my dr. I switched to the monitor...and sure enough 3 months later I was pregnant! I, of course highly recommend the monitor! Good luck to all of you!
