I heard about this yesterday. It seems like she will only be doing between 4 and 6 books a year.
I heard this am, they say that she will be doing less new novels and more classics whatever that means. I think she did a service to a lot of up and coming authors that most people would not consider.
I think that many of her authors, such as Toni Morrison, were not new authors. She just got them exposed to a larger audience. But she also picked books that were so boring sometimes JMO and the Pilot's Wife was awful. I think NOT picking a book like Red Tent or Geisha was stupid. Those are books that reflect women's lives and worlds unknown to most of us.
Hey, has anyone's mother bought them the book, The Conscious Bride? It was an Oprah Book Club book. It's awesome. Finally, my feelings are validated throughout this engagement process. I highly recommend it. Let me know what you think.
