Re: Orchid Question
Yeah, orchids are tropical, so I'd imagine they're pretty expensive anyway, and maybe even more so in Feb
I don't really know much about flowers either though, so I don't even know what to budget! I don't know what comes in what colors beyond very basic things you see every day... meh, I am not looking forward the the florist part.

Re: Orchid Question
Orchids are expensive and they are in season during Spring to early Summer. We had orchids for our wedding and the price was reasonable because it was in season but otherwise we couldn't afford it.

Re: Orchid Question
I got my flowers at Pedestals and they told me that it doesn't matter which flowers i choose, they price it by the AMOUNT of flowers, not the type. Maybe you can call them and find out if that's really true (or maybe i mis-understood)
ps: orchids = awesome

Re: Orchid Question
Orchids are pretty expensive and, depending on what you want to do, can be labor intensive. I would think that since you are after V-day, roses should be extremely cheap! They'll be the v-day leftovers! But I'm no florist, and I very well might be wrong.

I think this may be the same with other florists too--I think orchids are very expensive to send to someone but they may not be much pricier for arrangements. You should ask anyways!

Rose are generally inexpensive any time of the year with the exception of Valentine's day or immediately before or after- Most of the flowers are imported and with a few exceptions can be obtained year round.

Re: Orchid Question
It depends which type of orchid...dendrobiums are less than cymbidiums. Check out this site for an idea: http://www.fiftyflowers.com/flowers/AllFlowersOrchids_130.htm

Agreed. I used tons of dendrobium orchids and the price was beyond reasonable. Below are my centerpieces- all dendrobium orchids for $65 per table! I purchased my own vases and Designs by Rose brought them to life!

Nope. It's the totally opposite - the whole month of February the prices of roses are sky high.
I've spoken to 5 florists and each one said per rose it was a $2-$4 difference in February. Which seriously adds up. I'm still doing roses in my bouquets.
I'm just trying to figure out centerpieces.

I don't know, I have to talk to my florist again.
They're going to hate me, I keep changing my mind lol
