I've heard that orchids are much more expensive than the average flower and they'll greatly increase the price of bok's or cp's... Is this true? I know there are many types of orchids out there so is this an appropriate generalization? I'm going to be making florist appointments soon and want to be prepared when I ask about them

Re: Orchids question...
I'm having orchids....I dont know if they increase the price but my florist (Lovin Oven Floral Designs) didnt mention that. I had mentioned maybe having calla lilies and he said THOSE are expensive.

I'm using orchids in my CPs and bo-k and I know that cymbidium orchids tend to be more expensive than dendrobium orchids.

Re: Orchids question...
I am using Orchids (see pics in my album). I'm using Burton's too and in my contract it's the same price for any flower, as long as they are in season...

Re: Orchids question...
all flowers are cheap, florist just mark up the price ridiculously. go to the flowers distric & u can get a better idea of the wholesale cost of flowers & see how they compare 2 one another.

Re: Orchids question...
My centerpieces are Orchids and Calla Lillies...both are expensive flowers but incorporate them with other flowers and its shouldn't raise the price too much

well in the wholesale flower district flowers are cheaper in general bc well its wholesale, that goes with any item whether its clothes or electronics, when you buy them wholesale the price is lower...BUT even in the flower district certain flowers will be more than others, less than a flower shop but you still notice the difference in price...For example i asked about peonies and they said at the flower district that they were $5 each, which were more than most of their flowers, so it still applies that certain flowers are more expensive than others..

Re: Orchids question...
idk if it depends on the season or not with orchids.
Some florists have an any flower=same price policy. I think Burtons is one of them. We are using Jack andRose and they have this policy also.
