Ordained Minister

Ordained Minister

I'm hoping some fellow LI brides can help me!

I live in nassau county but am getting married in suffolk county (I think that makes a difference). I have decided to have the ceremony onsite rather than in the church (roman catholic) and would like my uncle to do the ceremony. My uncle is a minister but not ordained.

So....what is the process of getting him ordained? Would there be any restrictions to having him ordained and perform the ceremony due to where we live and where we will wed?

Any guidance will be appreciated!
Thanks!

Anyone can get ordained online. My FH is and married friends of ours! He used this site Universal Life Church

The only restriction is if you want to get married in NYC your officiant has to be registered there. But that does not apply to Nassau or Suffolk counties.

It's a nondenominational church, but I'm not really sure what you're asking. Basically you fill out the form, you get ordained for free, they send you a little card and I think that's it. Have your uncle check it out.
