Order of Ceremony

Order of Ceremony

I'm in the process of figuring out the order of our ceremony and I'm not sure at what point the officiant asks 'who gives this woman to be wedded to this man?'

So far I have this as the order of things:
Introduction
Words on Marriage
Hand Ceremony/Blessing
Declaration of intent
Maybe a prayer or reading here
Vows
etc...

So where do you think the giving of the bride will go?
Thanks!

If I remember correctly when I got to the alter the preist said some words on marriage and then asked 'who gives this woman...'

I can't believe I can't remember this....it hasn't even been two months yet

Re: Order of Ceremony

Ok so after the intro and words on marriage he will ask to the guests 'who gives this woman to this man?' and then my dad says 'I do' or 'her mother and i do,' and then there is the declaration of intent where we say 'I will' or 'i do'?

Re: Order of Ceremony

Ok well the problem is that we are not getting married in the US and that giving of the bride isn't really done here... so my officiant won't be of much help...which is why I'm relying on you guys to help me get things straight

No it didn't sound snobish at all! I just wanted to let you all know I'm not asking the officiant because I'm lazy or anything, but because he is as clueless as I am

Re: Order of Ceremony

in the sample program i have it goes like this:
Order of worship:

Entrace Rite (bridal party and bride enter)
welcome and greeting
Opening prayer
liteurgy of the word
new testament reading
gospel acclamation
rite of marriage (Wedding vows)
blessing and echanging of rings
prayer of the faithful
