Order of reception events?

Okay, so I just realized I have no idea how the reception works! When we are introduced, do we then go right into the first dance? Or are we introduced, everyone sits, there's a toast, and then the first dance?

Help!

Here was our rundown of the day. I am sure I am forgetting something, but this was basically it. Check with your banquet manager, they will be able to give you the full rundown of your day

1.parents/bridal party/us introduced

2. we walked around the dance floor/through the bridal party arch, into our first dance

3. after first dance bridal party joined and then everyone else

4. after dances, everyone sat down, best man gave speech and everyone ate first course and ordered their dinner

5. danced for a while

6. returned to seats for second course

7. dance some more

8. returned to seats for dinner

9. dances for a while after dinner

10. cake time- cut the cake

11. after cutting cake went into special dances mother/father/brother

12. after special dances went in to garter/bouquet toss

13. after tosses went to eat cake/vienesse

14. thats all the special stuff- danced the night away!!

This was basically it. I am sure I am forgetting something so if you think of something I missed let me know and I'll tell you where it goes!!

Our's was done in this order

Everyone introuduced
Us introduced then go right into first dance
BM toast
MOH toast

dancing
dinner

Cake

Groom Dance with mom

Garter Removal
Bo-K toss
Garter toss

Dancing

Last dance of the night
