Hi girls, I am trying to figure out the order of my ceremony, the reverand said it was up to me how to do it. The components are :
greeting, introduction, vows, exchange of rings, untiy candle ceremony, hands poem and a thank you to our parents. Any ideas on how the ceremony should go (obviously the greeting and introduction would be first)
Any help would be appreciated, TIA
Steph

Re: Order of the ceremony....HELP
The reverend should help you out, especially if you are paying a fee.
But, this should help you...this is the order of our ceremony:
Preamble
Processional
Moment of Remembrance
Welcoming of the guests (the thank you)
Reading
Preparation of the wine (same thing as unity candle, just using wine instead of candles)
Ring vows
Closing prayer and prouncement
Good luck!!

vows and rings can be the same depending on what you are saying..so they go together
hands poem after intro will break up the officant talking all day long.
unity candle (if you are doing with parents) will allow officant to come back in and do the parents.
thanking the parents after they did there part (if its that kind of ceremony) will be the next fitting thing to do..
finally since its your wedding, vows/rings/kiss and your done

we are thanking both sets of parents with something like this:
A special 'thank you' has been requested from the bride and groom to their parents.
Thank you for all the years of love, nurturing and guidence that has lead (Bride) & (Groom) here today.
They stand here before you, hand in hand, with past experiences and everything they have learned from you, their parents.
The love and respect that (Bride) & (Groom) share has made them secure and confident enough to encourage and be faithful to one another from this day forward.
Love is strong. You have given them the strength of love. Today they're celebrating the love and happiness that you have shown them and that they have found in each other. Thank you.
