Really? He is helping her to the top of the cake.

I get that. What I don't get is why anyone would want it--to me, it's saying 'I don't have an equal relationship, I need to be helped.' Maybe that's true, but is a wedding cake the time to say it?

Well then I definately suggest you don't get this for YOUR cake. To take the non-negative route one could also look at this as she just helped him onto the top and now he is returning the favor by kneeling down to help her.

Just as a side note, I don't think that making suggestions, such as you have above, and then adding to it the rudeness of 'maybe that is true' is necessary. You do not like the cake topper and you are entitled to your opinion, in all fairness I asked for it. But there is a difference between constructive critisism and down right nastiness.

Or you could just look at it like he is being a gentleman, holding his hand to his bride to help her up after he climbed up himself.
