just spoke with my baker and decided to go ahead and order him a seperate cake. we're going to do a zombie cake (so excited!) made with chocolate cake and filled with peanut butter, nuts and caramel. yum!
i saw some suggestions that you could serve it at the rehearsal dinner - what has everyone else done in the past? isn't it typically displayed at the reception? does everyone get a slice of that too (so much flippin' cake!)??

I had it at the reception. It was to awesome of a cake to not have everyone see it. There was a lot of cake but i had my wedding cake vanilla and my grooms cake chocolate so people had a choice.

did you leave it out next to the cake the entire time? or surprise him with it during the cake cutting? letting people have a choice is definitely a good thing!

Yes i left it next to wedding cake all night. It was cute because he didn't see it until our first dance. So while we were dancing i said 'Hey Check that out over there' and he looked over and was so surprised. It was well worth every penny.

If I do one it will be at the rehearsal dinner since our venue gives us cake and another dessert for each guest so I think it would be too much

doing mine at the rehearsal dinner because we have a mini VH and a cake so I don't want people to feel too heavy at the end of the night.

I'm using his at the rehearsal dinner. We have a our wedding cake, a full Viennese hour and a treats table so more cake for the wedding night was just too much.
