Traditionally, this dress is to be worn at the very end of the wedding when you're saying bye to everyone. And it's supposed to be bright red with gold print, preferably of dragons and phoenixes. I didn't find myself liking any of the red ones....they were just too bright!
I ended up going with one that reminded me of an asian painting I have at home. I love the more muted colors.
I'm a little nervous about the fit since I had to measure myself and they would custom make it without ever fitting it on me.

i think it's gorgeous. where did you order it? my mom wants to take me to chinatown in manhattan to get one custom made but am afraid it's going to be really expensive. how much do you think it's going to cost to custom make it?

OMG, thank goodness I'm not Asian, how on earth would I hide my love handles in a dress like that ??

that dress is so PRETTY.. I think it's probably more important that you love it and feel beautiful in it.. than it being red.
