Ordering your dress

Just trying to get a feel of when I should go dress shopping....

When did you guys first go shopping? How long did it take you to decide on your dress? I'm getting married in November....when do you think I should have the dress ordered by?

i think you should order in december or january the latest depending on where you get your dress!

edited: i went looking at dresses in july and ended up trying on about 10-12 dresses. i decided within a week what dress i wanted because the dress i fell in love with was being discontinued.

dresses take like 6 months to come in.

Hi, it took me about 2 months from the 1st time i tried on dresses and the time i ordered it.
You should start looking around since your about a year away.
I think they need around 6 months for the dress to come in once you place the order.
HAVE FUN WITH IT!

Thanks!!!!! I'm going to try to make an appointment for early in November...after I come back from Florida with a tan...I'm sure that will help!!

i'll say that it took me about 2 months to decide on a dress, i ordered it in august and im getting next july so i ordered it about a year before

It all depends on the designer....some take like 6 months...some can take up to a year. It doesn't hurt to start looking now. Talk to the sales people....they can give you an idea of certain designers and how long they take. GL!

I would start looking online now so you have an idea of what you want. That's what I did. My dress was the 3rd or 4th that I tried on but I ended up going to 2 other stores to look and then I went back to the first one.

I went dress shopping right after i got engaged (Jan 2008), I lost about 50 lbs so my style changed alot. So then went again in March of the following year (2009). I ordered my dress at the second store we went to.

I would say definitely start looking by January and go out dress shopping at the latest by February. You definitely need to order the dress by March. I bought my dress on Friday, a little less than eight months before, and I was definitely getting looks like...umm you're a little late.

Hey, Date twin!! I went dress shopping the middle of this passed summer and ordered my dress the end of July, I purchased mine from Kleinfelds and they said that it'll come in 2-3 months before my wedding. But there were people there that were getting married within 6 months and they said that it wasn't a problem.

I went shopping in april 09' and ordered it beginning of may 09' my dress just came in last week....I was luck and found my dress right away

Thanks for all the feedback!!!!! I'm going to make an appointment to start dress shopping for the second week of November (it's when I'm back from Florida and so is my mom).

SO EXCITING!!

Oh and btw....yeah I have a date twin :)
