I found a Demetrios gown at Macy's bridal and had planned on ordering it next month when my mom is in town visiting. I e-mailed Netbride to get prices for my BM's gowns, and for kicks I asked what the price would be for my gown. Well, when they e-mailed me back with prices, they informed me that my gown is being discontinued this month!!!
I freaked out and called Demetrios to see if this was true, and it is! Macy's of course didn't tell me this! If it weren't for Netbride, I would have never known. I just spoke to Macy's, and they said that a bunch of gowns are being discontinued and they had planned on calling all the customers that were interested in them to see if they wanted to place an order. Yeah, whatever! They'd better give me a discount!
So anyway, as soon as you find a gown that you like, make sure it's not being discontinued!!

The dress I really like is a Demetrios Couture (only sold at Macy's bridal salon). I called them a few weeks ago to make sure they had it and they said yes but for me to get in asap because even though it is not yet discontinued. It may be soon. Needless to say, I'm going in 2 weeks.

They must've learned from you because I just got called about the same thing. I have a dress on hold that I was most likely going to buy but hadn't made the decision yet and my Macy's girl called to tell me it's being discontinued - now I don't know what to do?

When I spoke to Demetrios directly they said that as long as the order is in by the end of the month, I'm ok. I'm going by Macy's today to get my measurements taken, and you can bet that I'll be on their a$$ to make sure they put the order through right away!
Oh, and they only offered me a 10% discount!
Amyt324 - if your gown is THE one (and I'm sure you know if it is) I'd go ahead and order it. I see you're getting married a few weeks after me - I don't think it's too early to get your gown.

Here's the one I think may be THE ONE! What do you guys think - should I go for it before it's discontinued? (I also attached a picture of myself so you can try to imagine what I'd look like in that dress and I attached our Save-the-Date picture just for fun - we made it ourselves!)
It looks pretty! I'm sure it looks even better on you though. Pictures never seem to do a gown justice. If you really feel like this is the one, then go for it! It's one less thing off your plate!
P.S. - your save the date is really nice!

Ann, oh no!! Stupid Macy's! I'm mad at them too b/c I tried going there last night after work to return something and they were closed for inventory. What a pain!
So are you going to be able to still get that dress???

I had a similar scare a couple of weeks ago & thank goodness I cought it in time. DEFINATELY GOOD ADVICE!
