Of course ALL are welcome to join the thread, but Id really like to hear from the moms! =)
Just wanted to start a thread on this so we can get a little discussion going. I recently saw an ad for a 'Mommy Organizer' ; Basically a Planner/Datebook for moms always on the go. I was just curious to know what types of strategies all you moms use to organize your day / your week. Lets share some tips and tricks =)
OK, I'll start =) : I just have a planner that I refill pages for, every year, and I keep all my 'goings on, and TO DO's there'. As far as chores, I try to set certain days of the week for certain chores, but last-minute plans screw that up every time, and I wind up just doing things as they come along and as they are needed. (Laundry, cleaning, etc). I used to do menus and print them out for fun, and put them on the fridge, but that dwindled with the last minute 'want chinese tonite?' LOL.
Anyone else have some fun ideas ??? Share Share !!!

Re: Organizing MOMMy !
I use a Palm Pilot and have it set so alarms go off to remind me when I need to go somewhere. As far as chores go, I just do as I go along. I am working full-time so I squeeze it in when I can.

Re: Organizing MOMMy !
My best friend keeps one of those wipe-off weekly calendar's on her frig so she knows when baseball games, practices, doctor's appt are for the week. i know it helps her a lot. I have my little purple agenda book that I used during the wedding planning. I still use it for appts (work and personal). I also use my Outlook calendar to keep track of stuff. As far as chores, I pretty much do them on Fridays and then Tuesday nights. sometimes Saturdays. I try to also pick-up as I go along so things are never really messy. Now with my nerve problem, Scott has more chores to do so but I should schedule my 'nag' time so they get done Dinners: Pizza is one night per week. We go out usually once a week too. I keep a steady supply of stuff in the house so I usually decide that day what to make. Sometimes I plan in advance if I really want to make something that I don't keep in the house often.

Re: Organizing MOMMy !
Great thread -- I could use all the help I can get. On a daily basis:
I do baby laundry immeadiately after lunch.
I make a days worth of bottles after the babies eat dinner (while they are in a food induced lull) so we are set through the next night.
Before I go to bed I have cereal/formula in bowl ready to go for am.
I buy everything I can in bulk, reducing BRU trips to biweekly - case of formula, 2 cases of diapers, cases of wipes. I buy baby food en mass as well (the packer at the Stop and Shop HATES me, because I want all baby food in separate bags, makes it easier to put away).
I clean house totally and shop only on Fridays (as it is Grandma day!) During Sesame Street I pick up as I go.
I keep a list of things I need with my coupons so I don't forget either. Little things do add up!

Re: Organizing MOMMy !
I keep a running list of needed groceries in the kitchen at all times. Whenever we run out of something, it goes immediately on the list.
I keep apts. and invites in two places - on Palm software on PC and written on paper on the fridge. I find that my memory is not what it used to be, so this is very critical!
If I have plans to be out w/Paul all day, I plan my dinner meal before I leave, so that I don't have much to do when I return home. Fridays is usually English muffin pizza, or take out pizza.
Since Paul is eating table food, I find that planning for his meals is less of a hassle now (thank goodness!)
Edited - I forgot cleaning/laundry! I have a big house, so there's always something to clean. I usually do at least one room/per day, and always at least 1 load of wash per day, but never more than two. It is endless!
