Ornament Swap

Hi Girls:

I saw on the 2011 and 2010 board that they do a ornament swap. It looked like a great idea and thought the 2012 brides should steal it.

I would be more than happy to coordinate it if there was any interest.

I stole this from the 2011 brides.. here is what they put. Of course we can change it up however we want if there is any interest.

Here’s how it works:

Below you are going to find a survey. All you need to do to participate is copy this survey into an FM to me along with your FULL NAME and ADDRESS of where you would like your ornament to be sent. Please put in the subject line “SECRET BRIDE SURVEY” so it doesn’t get lost in the shuffle of other FMs we may receive. This survey is basically going to help your Secret Bride get to know a little more about your “Holiday Style” and find the perfect ornament to send to you. Also, I would like to point out that this is not just a “Christmas” ornament swap. This is open to all religions and any holidays that anyone may celebrate during this time of the year

You will receive an FM during the first week of November with your Secret Bride, her address, and the answers to her survey.

The budget for the ornament will be $15. You can spend this however you wish – buy 1 ornament for $15 or you can buy 2 ornaments that equal $15 – totally up to you!

We ask that all ornaments be sent out by the first week of December to allow for enough delivery time for girls to receive their ornaments and enjoy them during the Holidays.

2) What's your favorite color?

3) What would you consider your 'style' to be?

4) What do you collect?

5) What are your hobbies?

6) Who are your favorite characters?

7) Do both you and your FH celebrate the Holidays?

8) Are there any types of ornaments that you DON'T like?

9) Does your tree have a theme?

10) Do you have a Holiday Style??

we can revise it so that if you do not have a tree you can put that in the survey and then the person who gets you would not get an ornament but something else.

Growing up I never had a tree but FH and I are planning on having a tree this year and I am sooo excited.

Ok, I'm still slightly confused (I know you just reposted the 2011 post). I know it says it's not just a Christmas ornament swap and that it's open to other religions and holidays... but I'm pretty sure this is where my mom would use one of her 'Jews don't...' lines. Ornaments ARE a Christmas thing, are they not? Or did I just grow up in an ornament-deprived Jewish household?

I think some sort of holiday exchange is a great idea!

I have a tree every year and it gives her a seizure. I tell her its a chanukah bush lol

My mom doesn't know that I am doing a tree yet this year but she is going to freak....oh well!

I am having surgery on Tuesday so I will be home and have plenty of time to get this under way!
