I am due to get my period the 4th day of my HM (I am going from June 1st to June 15th) and I would like to push it up 2 weeks so I dont have it for my wedding day or my HM. I am on ortho lo. Can I do this???? Anyone on ortho lo have this problem????

Re: ortho lo question
I would ask your obgyn...your pharmacist may know also, but your doc is your best bet.

Re: ortho lo question
Ask your GYN because I used to be on it and when I wanted to do that she said it had to be done a certain way because it is a tri-phase pill. I dont remember what she said but I remember it being different than just skipping the placebo pills.

Exactly. On a tri-phase pill it is almost impossible to 'rearrange' your period. If you're on a pill where you take the same level of hormones all 3 weeks, then all you have to do is skip the placebo and keep taking active pills for an extra week or 2.
Honestly, the best way to do this is to go into your gyn and ask her for help. They are very used to this question and will happily help you. You need to give yourself about 6 months to do this and for your body to readjust so I'd do it ASAP.
When I was at my last appt, my gyn actually noticed my e-ring and brought it up to me about changing my timing!

Re: ortho lo question
I have done this b4 and spoke with my gyno. It is not a guarantee but it worked foor me everytime. When you are due to take you first sugar pill, start your a new pack. And it should skip your peroid. You may have some spotting if its the first time but for the most part it will work. Best advice try it out months b4 the wedding. Like I said it worked for me, but EVERYONE'S body is different. Hope this helps

Re: ortho lo question
if i am due to get my period and i dont want it, instead of taking the sugar pills...you automatically just start taking your next pack. I have done it like 8 times and it works everytime. I dont use a backup either. I would double check with your GYN before doing this...especially if you have never done it before.

Re: ortho lo question
I am on ortho lo and my gyn told me to skip the placebos and start with the white pills right after the dark blue ones. I am going to try it next week since he told me not to wait until the last minute bc you might get break through bleeding.

I used to do it all the time when i was on ortho lo: instead of taking your placebo pills, you start a new pack. That's the only way to do it, and it's safe. You may spot a little, but that's better than nothing. You should try it before hand though so you know how you will react.

Just remember this only works if you're on a mono-phasic pill. Tri-phasic pills do not allow you to skip your period. This is why you need to check with your gyno - in case you need to switch pills.

I did it all the time on my tri-phasic pills (ortho lo being one of them). The only issue with it is that you may spot.
