Other honeymoon options...

Some of you know that i've been looking into a timeshare from my parent's company in Hawaii. I was told Hawaii is reallly difficult to get during the time we want to go so they suggested looking at other places too.

SO we decided to look at St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Maarten.

These are the timeshares available:

St. Thomas - Marriott Frenchman's Cove

St. John - Westin

St. Maarten - Pelican Resort Club or Oyster Bay Beach Resort (both on the Dutch side)

So far, from what i've heard from friends, they like St. Maarten the best.

Any opinions on these islands or any of the resorts I listed? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I researched St. Martin/Marteen for a while for our HM and really really liked what it had to offer.

First, it has the two sides and you can see both in a day which is great so you get to see a lot and dont get bored. Also, it is very very close to St. Kitts, Anguilla and one more which I forget at this moment- you can take really cheap boat rides there and spend the day so I thought it was amaxing that you could see that many islands all on your HM without having to take a plan anywhere else of have to go to a new hotel.

The dutch side is known for being the louder/party side and St. Martin known for serene, and I believe high end shopping but again you can travel to both.

I heard to rent a car so you dont get taken my the people for cab fare (be careful driving- i read the roads are crazy but every one does them so just be careful). St. MArtin is known for some of the most beatiful beaches.

I decided not to go for two reasons (one of them...I dont even know if this shoulda had an impact)...I have travelled all inclusive before and I really really love it and wanted to do it again for our HM- these islands do not offer that because they have plenty to do outside of the hotel and are pretty safe, clean, etc. Second reason was that two people said not to go, they just didnt like it but couldnt give me real reasons why- so who knows about that but anyway, I would definately go another time! PS- I hear St. Thomas and specifically St. John have the most amazing beaches anywhere!

We booked our HM to Jamaica...pretty sure we are sticking with it but with Sandals you can cancel at anytime up until like 45 days before (they were having a great sale so we booked knowing that we could cancel if we found something better)...I wouldnt however suggest Jamaica if you want to have a good amount of things to do. Jamaica is one of those places that are all inclusive for the reason that, it is not very safe outside the resorts. There are of course excursions but not much you want to do on your own. We are okay with this so not a problem. I hear St. Lucia, there are a good amount of things to do and beautiful beaches as well. I've heard the same about Aruba and Bahamas. I would specifically look into Costa Rica...it's supposed to be gorgeous but a good place to do many activities!! I havent been to but friends have. fti-Antigua is known for beatiful beaches and the serentiy but not much to do at all!! My friend just came back from a cruise where she really like Curacao. I was in Bermuda and it is very very nice...I dont know how much there is to do but I would check it out- it is a british territory so you will find all the modern conveniences of America or Europe but with the hot weather and beatufiul scenary/beaches. If I come across more, Ill let you know

In regards to the three or maybe 4 island that you are looking at, I think that St. Martin has the most to do like you had said I thik in your original post. Im not 100% on this but do a search for the other islands and Im sure girls can tell you or always go on tripadvisor which is a one stop for reviews, things to do, etc.
