WOW I cannot believe it. We spent over 2 hours at the house today with both sets up parents.
OK, now what? I know we need to have the house inspected and contact our lawyer. If we have the house inspected say Saturday is that like dragging our feet??? We would all like to be there and have our dads there too since they are both in construction. Do you think thats too much time to pass?

Re: Our Bid Was Accepted!!!!
first, congratulations!!! You must be so thrilled! Second, I would get it inspected as soon as possible - it lets them know you are really serious and you want to get the ball rolling so that you get closer to signing a contract and that way noone overbids!
BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!

Re: Our Bid Was Accepted!!!!
I wouln't wait that long, from what I understand just because they accept the offer doesn't mean they stop showing the house. which kind of seems unfair, We lost a house because of things taking to long.

I totally agree. Get the inspector in as soon as possible. You want the seller's to know you are serious.

Re: Our Bid Was Accepted!!!!
CONGRATS!!!
our offer was accepted on sat 1/22 (the day of the HUGE storm). due to the snow, we scheduled the inspection for thursday 1/27. our attorney contacted the seller's attorney on monday 1/31. we STILL have NOT signed the contract. seller's attorney (for whatever reason) is dragging his feet. the agent has not shown the house since the inspection. we told our agent and our attorney that if we don't sign by fri 2/25, we are walking.
so, long story short, it really didn't matter if we scheduled the inspection right away or a week later. i 'think' our situation is unusual though.
i WOULD advise that you schedule the inspection for later this week. due to the snow the roof and grounds will not be able to be inspected properly. the agent and either you or your husband will need to be present at inspection. i am sure it would fine to bring your fathers as well.

Something similar happened to us. After we gave them the Ultimatum they signed.
I would do the inspection ASAP. It would be good to bring your fathers especially if they know about construction. the first thing we did with our report was bring it to my uncle who is a contractor and he went over everything with us. Definitely very helpful.
