Sooo, one of my Bms (my best friend) and GMs got engaged last night. DH actually went with him to get the ring a few weeks ago. It's soo exciting and I can't wait to help her plan.
Ok, so they are SUPER ITALIAN (like us) and need an RH..really good italian food, close to queens, they probably will have about 150 ppl and they're looking for summer 2010...any ideas?
Oh, can't do Russo's (her sis got married there), no Marina Del Rey (I got married there).

I'm an italian bride and I didn't want russos or marina del ray simply bc I've been there 1000 times. Instead I chose The Inn at New Hyde Park. It's close to queens, serves italian food, and is newly rennovated with an old world style. It's a little pricey, but I feel like you get what you pay for on this one, tell her to check it out.

Congrats to them!! My fh and I come from very italian families. We are getting married at VIP country club, its not in Queens but not far at all. Its probably 10 minutes from Marina Del Ray

My Family is super Italian Italian and I'm getting married at Glen Island in New Rochelle, my brother also got married at the Fountainhead up there also and the family couldn't stop saying how good the food was....tell her to check both out, they're gorgeous.

We all loved Floral Terrace when my cousin got married there in April. DH & I LOVED Glen Island Harbor Club for his cousin's wedding. And she's seen and heard about VIP and wants to check it out.
Good to know we're on the right track!
I'm trying to get her to join us crazy girls here...but she's a teacher full time and is getting her masters full time and doesn't have much extra time. If she joins, I'll introduce her!!

i just booked with the Sand Castle for a summer 2010 wedding....its a great size for a party of 150 and they gave me SO much for my money it was insane. also, its real close to queens. that was a huge factor because most of my family/friends live in brooklyn and queens.

My whole menu is Italian, owners are Italian, and Banquet Manager is Italian, and I'm at Chateau Briand . . . probably 20 mins. from Queens, if that. I came from Staten Island in about 45 one morning.

Tell them to check out the Sand Castle. Italians love it (part of the reason I'm getting married there)! The food is great, and they give seconds on the main course.
