Our Centerpiece Sample from Pedestals

We went to Pedestals on Saturday to see our sample. I have to state that Robert is wonderful and we have had nothing but a great experience with Pedestals. That said, we aren't in love with our sample and aren't sure what to do. We made some changes while we were there, for example all roses will now be red, additional flowers will be added, etc. etc. However my FH is still not happy with the CP and I can't say that I love it either. We will be calling Robert tomorrow to discuss our options further, but would love some honest input on what you guys think about the CP.

The CP is different from the original CP we chose. The reason Robert made the changes are because the new sample is able to be used on top of pedestals along the aisle for the ceremony, however the original is actually in the glass vase and cannot be used for the ceremony.

After we left pedestals, I suggested to my FH that maybe we have half of the CP's made the orignal way and the other half of the CP's made like the sample, so I guess that is an option, but we are still not thrilled.

I don't know if I am getting myself crazy for no reason. I do know that I am already over budget and can't afford to put even more flowers in the CPs. The other thing is I need around 25 of them (wedding is 250-300 people) so all changes are big $$$.

Sorry to ramble on I am just a little frustrated!

Thanks for listening and TIA for your honest opinions (if you hate it, I swear its ok and would rather know the truth!!)

The first picutre is a bad pic with my phone camera but is what we originally selected. The other pics are the sample we saw this weekend.

I also think it is beautiful. Maybe too much green, but I really like it.

That is my FH's biggest complaint....too much green, especially since the original didn't have any.

I REALLY like the sample that you saw this weekend. It is so beautiful. The original one is pretty too, just not as much green in it to make it look full.

I happen to really like the sample...I don't think the green is too overpowering...I think you should ask Robert to take some of the green out & add some color....I am sure he will do it without a problem...He is so easy to work with!

oh my.... i know you aren't 100% happy...but WHOA.... i think it's gorgeous.

i think it's natural to want to tweak it at this stage of the game. i defnitely anticipate going back into my florist at the end of February and tweaking my final arrangements... now that i have dresses etc.

i met with robert too and i adored him...i know he'll make it work for you.

so...is it too many different types of flowers? what's the real big thing bugging you guys?

I think I am just confused at this point, lol. I guess I really expected to see something more similar to the first cp (the original one we saw) and this just had a lot more greenery. We are already making changes, such red roses instead of the white, as I commented on, but we are still not sure. I think I may even ask Robert to make a new sample with the changes so I can get a better idea. Maybe it is just that I am 47 days away and getting myself crazy I think the fact that the FH doesn't really like it is bothering me too.

I am not too savvy with these things so please forgive me, but what makes the second more workable than the first? the vases for the two seem very similar to me (though I am blind) so I am not following why you can't have the first one, it that's the one you really like.

I am going to try to explain this as best as possible....

the original one has actual stems in the vase. The calla's are full length. So everything is attached to the vase. It is physically in it.

The new CP is not attached. It is actually designed on top of the glass so that you can literally take off the whole top to place them on the pedestals on the aisle. It is also the reason why they need more greenery in it.

Does that make any sense??

I see said the blind woman!

this might be a totally bizzarre or off the wall question, but if you are looking for something for the pedestals, would you consider going to the flower district in the city to purchase whole plants of a particular flower...say potted mini roses or whatever you fancy. they shouldn't be too expensive, perhaps not even adding up to as much as the additions you had to make to the cp's, and you can then still have the cp's that you both like.

Good luck

The first CP pic has a lot of green in it. The last CP pic of course is beautttttttttiful. If you are having second thoughts please tell them to do the CP exactly how you want it.
