Our 'do not play' list

Our 'do not play' list

So I sat down tonight (although I should be sleeping) and typed up a 'do not play' list based on conversations FH and I have had about the wedding. I figured since I took the time to type it, I ought to share it.

I have a feeling some of our choices will not be popular (some people LOVE Bon Jovi and Sinatra -- FH does not). Thankfully, music is all a personal taste, so there's nothing wrong with having different likes and dislikes!

Our biggest problem is going to be finding songs people will enjoy dancing to! I think it's gonna end up being a lot of 80s music.

Thanks to everyone whose ideas I used based on some threads from before!

Anyway, here it is:

Do Not Play List

Bon Jovi
Sinatra
Hootie & the Blowfish
Shout
Celebration
We Are Family
The Twist
Who Let the Dogs Out
Hot Hot Hot
Stayin’ Alive
Oh What a Night
Electric Slide
Macarena
Grease Medley
Paradise by the Dashboard Light
I Would Do Anything for Love
Meatloaf
Celine Dion
Let’s Get Loud
Rihanna
Michael Jackson
Cotton Eye Joe
Last Dance (Donna Summer)
YMCA
I Will Survive
It’s Raining Men
I Will Always Love You
Wind Beneath My Wings
Aerosmith (especially Don’t Want to Miss A Thing)
Sweet Caroline
No Group Dances
Five for Fighting
No Rap Music
No Electronica
Chicken Dance
Like a Prayer (Madonna)
Holiday
Like a Virgin
No Conga Line
Do not take requests, please.

If you have any ideas for additions or comments, please share! This is just a first draft list, and we're by all means not married to it! Hee hee, I punned!

Awesome! I'm putting this in my notebook.

I HATE disco. I will have a major bridezilla moment if there is any disco at my wedding. I warned FH and he slightly disagreed with me but I've not put my foot down on much when it comes to this wedding....

Pretty much looked like ours. Just make sure you spell 'Greece Medley' 'GREASE Medley' or they will play the musical one and no music from the Isles of Greece

OMG if they started to play either of those, I think I'd kick them out and have FH hook up his ipod. I mean, seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lololol

Iknow that some DJs say that they can't promise NOT to play too many songs- hopefully your DJ can remember all your requests!!!

You have some of my favorite artists/songs listed on your DO NOT PLAY list.... eek!

And FH LOVES the Sinatra stuff- so I am stuck with that. He constantly sings Sinatra and grabs me to dance with him in the kitchen.

LOL That's the song FH and I are being introduced to.

To each his/her own.

Re: Our 'do not play' list

I have awful taste in music -- sorry if anyone dislikes our list!!

Seriously, they could just play all matchbox 20, lifehouse, train, wallflowers, barenaked ladies, and 80s music and I'd be totally stoked... and not a single person would get up and dance at our wedding! lol

FH wants to hear Journey, Air Supply, Chicago, Genesis, etc... you'd never know he was 27 from his favorite playlist...
