Our Honeymoon flights have been rescheduled

I get home, and I got a call from American Airlines stating that my flight info has changed. I had direct flights to St Thomas, and now it's connecting, and leaving @ 7am (to get there the same time I originally had)!!! I am sooo mad & disappointed. I just wanted to come and go, directly... with no overlay! The worst part? They're not even apologetic to the point where they'd throw a perk in or something... I mean, c'mon! Throw me a bone!

just wanted to vent!

i feel you but the airline's defense is they are only responsible for transporting you however they have to do it....you guys are going to have a great HM anyway!!!

I'm a little peeved about it, but I know we're going to enjoy ourselves out there anyway... just sucks that the drama starts... lol. Bad things happen in 3's.. I wonder what's next. D'oh!

I have the option in leaving @ 9:30, and arriving there @ 4pm (2-hour overlay for a 45 min flight... gr888888!). Do you think that's a better option, than arriving @ 1pm?

Yea yea... I know that if I read the very, very, very fine print, it'll state that their a$$es are covered... lol.

Mine got changed also... leaving 1 hour earlier. It isn't a big deal for us luckily. I hate how airlines can do that!

So you are getting there the same time you had planned to? I guess thats okay then. But they still should give you something for the hassle. A free newlywed cocktail maybe???

Yea, getting there about 45mins later than original plans... but also 1½ hour earlier.

I called call American - and do not take their first offer- i have had to stay ont he phone for a half hour but i get us upgraded when they do things like that- tell them that it is your honeymoon and you will exhausted and were expecting a direct flight and paid more for it - it works to call - it is a hassle but usually worth it

I could be totally wrong but I thought I read somewhere that if they change your flight to a different time (it might have to be moved more than say an 1hr earlier or later etc) you have a right to change flights to one more convienient for you without a charge - I forget where I read that

yea, I asked the agent about changing the flight to the next day (and staying one day extra), and she honored it - however, apparently, I was liable for the extra hotel costs... which was an additional $475.

We're saving $410 because of their mistake.
Apparently, fall trips went on sale after we booked it, so I get a refund! Yaaaaaaay!

Looks like I overreacted yesterday, because it worked out for the best.
