Our Honeymoon YAY!! *w/poll*

I just paid it off !

that's the first time i've ever spent that large of a sum on any 1 item.
i got off the phone and almost fainted.... and it isn't even THAT expensive.

is that normal??

We leave for Jamaica in like 6 weeks but we don't have our passports yet...b/c we're lazy and never applied for them.
what should we do??
expedite them?
or go to the passport office in the city??

i did mine 2 weeks ago or so and still havent gotten it yet...

my sister got hers in 2 weeks!

Probably expedite ... but I know nothing about passports. Does going to the office get you them faster? Can you walk out of there with one? If so, go there!

And believe me ... I know what you mean about paying off hte honeymoon .. I just charged part of my honeymoon (flights and all but two nights hotel, we are moving around a bit) and I just figured out that if I send $500 every month for the next 6 months it will paid off. WHAT??????? How can I do this? (That is NOT figuring in finance charges...)

I'm going to say go into the city for one reason. They can ALWAYS f*ck something up and they can always get backed up. If you go into the city, you know you're walking out of there with your passport in hand at the end of the day. It will just give you much more peace of mind. Both FH and I have had to go to the city like this in the past. It does suck, you will have to take the whole day off work and wait all day long, but at least you'll have your passport.

Note though, that you can't go face to face unless you're departing the U.S. in the next 14 days. So if you decide to go this route, you'll have to wait until you are within 2 weeks of your departure.

Yes, if I go to the passport office we will walk out with our passports. However, we can't do that until 2 weeks before we leave and we have to have 'proof of travel' with us.

since its just 6 weeks away, i would go to the passport office in the city, you would get them the same day so this way you can guarantee to get your passports...Plus its $95 and to expedite is alot more

ive done it twice by going to passport agency in the city and its not that bad...you'll wait a few hours but youll be able to leave and go eat something and come back

yea, that's what i was thinking, you're actually the reason I know that it's an option so thank you!
it's almost double to expedite...okay well maybe not DOUBLE, but since we need to get 2, it'd be like ordering at least 3 you know?

I think we'll end up doing the passport office, i just wanted to make sure i'm not totally crazy for waiting, i mean, i know i'm CRAZY but... well...

That kinda *****, that you have to wait so long ... you'll have a million things to do then .. and you have to take a whole day off? UGH. But it does sound like the best option. Sorry hon!
