We went last night to look into adopting another puppy. None of them were a good fit. A lot of them were too sick to come home yet. Others were too big. I wanted to take them all home. I was hysterical crying in there. It was so sad for me to not be able to save any of them. I fell in love with one, she was so big though but so sweet. She jumped up and we were hugging and I couldnt stop crying on her - she kept licking my face almost like she knew how upset I was.
I love dogs. We are going back in a few weeks to see how the sick ones are doing. If you are thinking about getting a dog or puppy - please dont buy from a breeder ... adopt a rescue!!!

Re: OUR TRIP TO NORTH SHORE
I got a puppy a few weeks ago unexpectedly. We went to a winery where they were they were having a fundraiser for a shelter. They had a few dogs and this one puppy and I just fell in love with each other.
It makes me feel good knowing I rescued her. All of my dogs will come from shelters.

Re: OUR TRIP TO NORTH SHORE
I was a volunteer at northshore for almost 4 years and I worked in the puppy adoption section
I actually have been to other shelters and I didn't think northshore was as depressing as many others. The volunteers really do love animals and they never, ever euthanize animals simply because they aren't adopted.
I adopted our family dog from there after going almost every weekend for 2 months! Don't give up, they get puppies all the time and you'll find a good fit!
And they are very good with sick puppies too. If you adopt one of them, you can use their vets for very reasonable prices or for free until they get well.

aawww, you have a good heart. My girlfriend fostered an abused puppy and later adopted her, I don't know if that's something you can do?

Thank you. I wouldnt be able to do that because I have a dog now who is aggressive with other animals - all but young puppies. So we would have to have a young puppy that she can get used to. If I could I would have a dog farm and just take them all.

You have an iron will if you were able to walk out of that place without arms full of puppies! But that's good that you're approaching it responsibly. You'll find the right dog for you!
