from the beginning i was thinking to myself well if this is just her roommate i would tell her to try and work it out and try to have her see what your vision is and what you want it to look like...
but then i saw that shes your sister and if my sister did that to me i would tell her straight out that she can pick whatever dress she wants just in the color that i want her too if she isnt going to cooperate with you on that you have given her plenty of options and thats not fair she isnt working with you on it considering it is your day...
knowing me since im a push over i would be right on the phone or over my moms being like 'MOM you need to talk to your daughter' hahha

Re: out of control
im sorry but that is so rude of your sister to not want to join in on your special occasion and be excited for your wedding and want to be apart of it all the way any sister should be!

Re: out of control
tell your sister to stop being a brat - it's your wedding and not hers. I was a bm in a couple of weddings where i didn't like the dress AND color but i ****** it up b/c that's what they want. it's really not up to her. stop giving her a choice!

Re: out of control
I understand that she is your BM and and your sister but you have been more then fair and she is being selfish now. You have given a million options even letting her pick the dress she wants. Bottom line.. it's YOUR wedding.. get what you want because this is a one time deal and those will be your pics that you will have forever. What colors do YOU want to use? if you want black then do black and tell her she can wear the purple sash..? Or put her in a purple dress and the other girls in black with a purple sash so it all pulls together?? Im so sorry that must be so frustrating!

Re: out of control
i learned early on not to give too many options to people. just tell her she can either wear a short vs long or different color/fabric as opposed to the other BM's.... end of story. i wouldn't let her wear red when everyone else may or may not be wearing black/purple she has to at least look pleasing to the eye and blend

Re: out of control
my sister is wearing red (MOH) and my BMs are wearing black. My sister is wearing a color called Bordeaux, so its a dark red.
She will def not steal the show as you're dress is obviously going to top hers!!! Have her wear a darker red which will blend in nicely with the black. My flower girl is also wearing a dark red which is a little darker than the MOH.
If you are totally against red, then that's fine, but if you are just worried that she will steal the show, don't worry she won't!!! and go with a darker red.

omg!! tell her to stop being a brat! haha
is this your younger sister, btw?
if you don't want to start a fight with her, i would have your mom say something to her - she's being completely unreasonable. she can pick the dresses for her wedding - you should at least get a say in what color she wears! she's being ridiculous!!

excuse me but who doesn't like to wear black?
to me that would seem like a gift! especially bc you are giving her the freedom to wear whatever style she wants as well!

ITA. My bridesmaids (sisters) had pretty much zero say in the dress. And they certainly had NOOOO say in the color. I would have told them to kiss my a*s if they didn't like it.

Re: out of control
Maybe you can get her to wear a black dress with a deep red accent...I had my MOH's wear black with white...see attached picture. Maybe you can have her wear a dress like the ones my MOH's wore (notice all different dresses) but with the red where the white is...
I wouldn't even stress it...I'd just tell her 'This is my wedding & these are my colors.' I'm pretty sure she understands there is nothing that she can do or say to change the fact, but by throwing a fit she's hoping to have you change your mind. Just stand firm on your choice and she'll follow suit when she sees there is no changing your mind.

Re: out of control
Honestly, I have no patience for spoiled brats, relatives or not. If she wants to wear red, then go ahead...she just won't do it as part of the bridal party. Sometimes you need to stand up for yourself. This may be a life lesson for little sis that she can't get what she wants all the time because she stomps her foot and pouts. Pick a dress, tell her to get her whinny a$$ in it and call it a day.
Sorry, I'm annoyed at the world today.

Re: out of control
Ughhh that's rough. It's really not up to her to decide what color she's going to wear as your moh. I think you have been more than nice by telling her to pick out whatever dress she wants, stick to your guns. Tell her she has to find a dress that will compliment your color scheme, end of story. Good luck!!!!

Re: out of control
Sheesh. When you are in a wedding, you basically wear what the bride wants. If she gives you a little leeway in choice, that's nice of her. Why is she being so difficult??
