One of my bridesmaid's lives in Buffalo - how do I work around the whole dress thing with her? Has anyone else had out of town Bridesmaids? How did you organize things - how did they get their dresses and such?

They can go to a local seamstress or dress store and get measured, send the measurements to the store where you're gettign the dresses and voila!

3 of my bridesmaids are in Rochester, and I am choosing dresses that are available up there too. Telling them where to go and what to get and thats it. I hope it works out that easily though!

We ordered our dresses at Vera Wang - my cousin lives in Texas and couldn't come to NY until the wedding itself - so she went to a store that carried Vera Wang and got measured then called the measurements into VW and they ordered and sent her the dress

both of mine are oot. One is only 2 hours away, but it is hard for us to get together. (she's in HS)
We are doing a lot of back & forth online now. not sure how to work the final picking. I think they both would like to try it on. How do I find something in both NJ & CA?
I'm tryign to be accomodating 7 sent a tone of ics to teh MOH in CA, but she just sent me one she liked & I don't. I don't knbwo how to tell her that though.
You could always go the David's Bridal route, but I didn't see anyting I liked there.

one of my bridesmaids lives in Florida. So the dress we're gonna go with is by after six. So I'm gonna print out the pic of the dress, give her the swatch sample, and look up on the after six site where in fl. is that dress available...and then give her all the info.

One of my BM is in California - I know a lot of you are saying that you are going to have your OOT BM get their dress locally - but I am ordering all of mine together and then shipping hers out to CA and here's why - most companies will only guarantee the same dye lot if the dresses are ordered together. Even though you are going to order the same dresses in the same colors - if they are ordered separately and made at different times - you have no way of knowing if the shade is exactly the same.

ALL of my BM's and my MOH are not in the NYC area
MOH - Texas BM - Iowa BM - Albany (in college)
So I emailed the photo to my sister and my MOH that my FSIL tried on and liked (after 15 or so-I had her do this while she was on break) and my MOH tried it on in San Antonio and liked it too. My sister says she likes and and now I'm finding a good price and I'm having them all send me the money and I'll buy them and ship them off to their respective locations for alterations. They are expected to bring their gowns with them to NY for the wedding.

Almost all my bridesmaids are out of town. I went with my MOH to RK Bridal and she tried on dresses. We narrowed it down and then the rest of the girls went to local stores by them to try the dress on. I ordered through RK to get a great savings on the dress and the girls can bring the dresses someplace local by them to get altered.

i have the same problem- my bridemaid lives in buffalo too- luckily she is willing to see the dresses in pictures on line when we are picking them out and will come for fittings. when it comes down to ordering her size she will be measured up there and will give me her measurements! its really hard but i am just really happy and lucky she is willing to come here often when the time gets closer.

my two OOT bridesmaids came home and got fitted for the dress here...so they were all ordered together....but they're either having htem shipped to where they live, or are coming to pick them up and having them fitted closer to home.

I got their measurements and entered the order. When the dresses come in they are going to go to their own seamtress in their town.

Only 3 of my 7 BM live in NY. After I finalized the dresses, I sent them all letters with the manufacturer size information and locations of salons that carried their dresses in respective cities so they can get alterations done. I told them to go to a local dry cleaner to have their measurements done. They either mailed or emailed me back their measurements. I made one order to the bridal salon so that all the dresses will be cut from the same lot. All the dresses will be shipped to them at their home for them to have alterations done.

with alot of dresses you can actually order them online ... try www.bridesave.com theu have so many dresses there chances are the one you pick out will be on there and she can order it or you can have her go somewhere and take measurements and order it for her .
