Out of Town Gift Baskets

Out of Town Gift Baskets

Most of my out of town guests originally lived in new york, so I wanted to include some items that are typical to new york/long island. Unfortunately, if I think of the things that I would miss if I moved away, it would be pizza, bagels, and italian bread...none of which would go well in a welcome basket. Anyone have any long island/new york favorites or local vendor products that would make a cute addition?

Jeez--this is hard as every idea requires refrigeration or heat.

I know it seems like a bit of a reach but when i've stayed at Doubletree Hotels they give warm cookies when you check in--maybe have the desk attendant drop in a warm street pretzel?

I thought a piece of Junior's Cheesecake would be amazing but also needs refrigeration.

Maybe a Crumbs cubcake? Not very traditionally New York but made in NY!

Or black & white cookies -- those are difficult to find outside NY.

I was out looking for hamentashen the other day. Totally unable to find in NC. But that's a seasonal food.

Sometimes you can get $1 bags of mets or yankees peanuts -- those are pretty cool!

I was going to do this to. I also thought of mini black and white cookies, Bagel chips , little bags of roasted nuts, and Manhattan special. I can think of anything else.

I wanted to do the same LI theme! The chips are North Fork chips. I was also going to put apples from a local farm.

I highly recommend going to The Jericho Cider Mill 73 Route 106, Jericho, NY 11753.

They have a lot of local grown stuff (potato chips, etc.)
